Firstly, login to your SSH server.

1) To change the password in Transmission, you will need to stop it with this command:

 killall transmission-daemon

2) Then edit the file:

nano ~/.config/transmission-daemon/settings.json

3) You need to edit a setting called:

 rpc-password

Transmission will automatically be restarted every 10 minutes (specifically, on the 10th, 20th minute etc) so make sure you finish editing the file before it starts back otherwise things might not work.
